Welcome to the Fire Corps E-update. Fire Corps is a locally-driven Citizen Corps program that allows community members to offer their time and talents to their local fire and EMS departments in non-operational roles. Fire Corps serves as a gateway to information for and about fire and EMS department programs and meets a citizen's desire to serve as well as a department's need for support.

Fire Corps National Advisory Committee Meets
The Fire Corps National Advisory Committee (NAC) met on October 26 at the Fire Corps national office in Greenbelt, MD. The NAC, which is comprised of representatives from many national fire and emergency service organizations as well as other prominent leaders in the industry, came together to provide expertise and guidance for Fire Corps’ future activities and to discuss the direction of the program. Fire Corps Offers Spanish Resources
In an effort to reach a broader audience, Fire Corps has working with the National Association of Hispanic Firefighters to translate important resources and marketing tools for Spanish-speaking populations. Programs can download Spanish radio public service announcements, print advertisements, customizable press releases and order brochures. Department Profile: Vigilant Hose Company (MD)
The Vigilant Hose Company, located in the shadow of the National Fire Academy and National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, MD, has been an all-volunteer organization for 125 years. With over 100 volunteers, including an active Fire Corps team, Vigilant has a proud history of volunteerism with strong ties with the community. Read full article.
