Fire District of Sun City West Salutes Volunteers

In honor of Volunteer Appreciation Week, 46 Sun City West volunteers were recognized April 12 for sharing their time with the Fire District of Sun City West.

Fire Corps members provide valuable services to the community including blood pressure screenings, lock box installations and maintenance, smoke alarm checks, installations and battery changes, injury prevention, fire extinguisher training and administrative assistance.

Last year Fire Corps members volunteered 2,624 hours providing answers to non-emergency calls for service that qualified the group for a President's Volunteer Gold Service Award.

Sun City West Fire District residents who are interested in becoming a Fire Corps volunteer can call 623-584-3500. Applications are available from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the district administration office, 18818 N. Spanish Garden Drive in Sun City West.
