From Hernando News Source

County commissioners recognized the Hernando County Fire Corps this week for their volunteer efforts. Corps spokesman Steve Katz says "So far this year we have provided over 3,000 hours of volunteer service to Hernando County. In October alone, we provided over 600 man-hours, and over 2500 children went thought the Fire Safety House program which we brought to 16 schools in the community."

Katz says the Fire Corps operates county-wide to assist first responders and still seeks new members.
