Fire District Volunteers Sought

Wednesday, 12 January 2011

From: The Explorer

Golder Ranch Fire District is seeking dedicated individuals to join the Fire Corps Volunteer program. Fire Corps volunteers do not take the place of emergency personnel but instead assist the fire district primarily in the community outreach arena and administrative functions. There are a variety of positions available, including clerical, courier, reception, event assistance and safety education in the schools.

A new program being developed is the Community Assistance Team. It will provide services such as resource referrals to victims of an emergency, comfort to families suffering a loss, transportation services or a shoulder to lean on.

Applications are being accepted now through Jan. 31. Orientation and training for selected applicants will begin late in January.

Applicants can read about all of the opportunities and download an application at under the heading of “Volunteer Opportunities.”

For additional information, contact Sue or Karen with Golder Ranch Fire District Community Services at 818-1017.
