Make Sure Your Community is Ready for Hurricane Season

Tuesday, 17 May 2011

Hurricane season began June 1, and now is the time to make sure your community is prepared. Fire departments and communities in high risk areas should have a plan in place before a hurricane strikes to avoid or lesson potential disaster. Fire Corps programs can help departments by ensuring the community is prepared in the event of a disaster. Visit the National Volunteer Fire Council’s Hurricane Preparedness Resource Center to find tools and resources for getting your community ready. Click here to access resources from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
