Help Fire Departments Deliver the Wildland Fire Preparedness Message

Wednesday, 15 February 2012

The Ready, Set, Go! (RSG!) Program, managed by the International Association of Fire Chiefs, provides fire departments with the tools and resources to teach individuals who live in high risk wildfire areas – and the wildland-urban-interface – how to best prepare themselves and their properties against fire threats.

Engaging in this dialogue is particularly important for the fire service because national studies have shown that firefighters are uniquely respected in their communities and can project a trusted voice to the public preparedness appeal. Fire Corps teams can help their fire departments engage with residents, deliver this message, and strengthen community preparedness.

Learn more at www.wildlandfireRSG.org and encourage your fire department to become an RSG! Program Member. The RSG! Program helps residents be ready with preparedness understanding, be set with situational awareness when fire threatens, and go early when a fire starts.
