Illinois Releases Emergency Preparedness Video for the Hearing Impaired

Tuesday, 17 April 2012

The Illinois Emergency Management Agency and Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission have released an 11-segment emergency preparedness video for the hearing impaired.

Though developed by Illinois, the messages are not state-specific. The video uses American Sign Language and closed captioning to convey information such as how to make a household emergency plan, preparing a supply kit, planning evacuations, preparing a shelter, and preparations for people with disabilities.
