Become a Fan of Fire Corps on Facebook

Tuesday, 23 March 2010

Many Fire Corps volunteers use social networking web sites like MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter to keep in touch with friends and possibly other members of their Fire Corps team. Now you can keep in touch with the national Fire Corps program and connect with other local programs through the Fire Corps page on Facebook.

Encourage your Fire Corps members to become a fan of the Fire Corps page on Facebook. If your local program or department already has its own group on Facebook, consider posting a link on your group’s page or sending an email to your members to make the aware of the national Fire Corps page.

The Fire Corps page currently has over 160 fans from coast to coast. The page includes program updates and events, photos, and fire safety tips. Fans can use the Wall feature to post comments and thoughts about Fire Corps, their local programs, or being a citizen volunteer in the emergency services. Also, your members can upload their own pictures from your program to share with other Fire Corps teams across the nation.

The Facebook page can be accessed by logging into Facebook ( and searching for Fire Corps, or go directly to A link is also provided on the home page of the web site.
