Help Promote Readiness during National Preparedness Month

Tuesday August 17th, 2010

September is National Preparedness Month (NPM) and Fire Corps programs nationwide can help promote emergency preparedness in their communities. Led by the Ready Campaign, Citizen Corps, and the Ad Council, and supported by organizations including Fire Corps, NPM is held each September to raise awareness and promote action surrounding emergency preparedness among citizens, businesses, and communities.

The theme for National Preparedness Month 2010 is “Plan Now. Work Together. Be Ready.” This theme focuses on helping Americans understand the importance of being ready for any emergency.

To assist your program, Fire Corps developed an online National Preparedness Month Resource Center with tools, resources, and materials that Fire Corps teams can utilize to help ready themselves and their community for emergency situations. Access the Fire Corps National Preparedness Month Resource Center at www.firecorps.org/npm.
