A combination department located in the outskirts of Chicago, the Westmont Fire Department is home to a Fire Corps program comprised of alumni from the departments' Citizen's Fire Academy program. These alumni now make up a team of 35 active and engaged citizens who assist the department on a daily basis with a variety of tasks, including assisting with fire prevention programming within the community, fundraising, and participating in the Westmont Fire Department's Children's Burn Camp as well as the Kids Safety Camp. Fire Corps members also help the department put on an open house event for the community, assist with Operation Prom Night at the local high school, and assist with various other administrative functions.

Additionally, these citizen advocates help raise money every year to send kids to Burn Camp, an annual event for children and adults who have suffered burn injuries, many of which are disfiguring, in order to build self-esteem for burn victims. As a result of their efforts, the group was awarded the State of Illinois Governor's Home Town Award.
