College StationThe College Station Fire Department, located in southeast Texas, is home to a group of dedicated Fire Corps volunteers who serve on the department's Community Action Response Team (C.A.R.T.). This team provides customer assistance and emotional support to families who are dealing with stressful situations following a fire or other emergency requiring a home evacuation.

Staffed by Citizen's Fire Academy alumni, the Community Action Response Team provides these residents with ongoing assistance such as recovery information, shelter, packing boxes, clothes, and other items and services needed during or after an emergency incident. Additionally, they help misplaced residents locate and coordinate support from the community as well as other social service organizations.

The C.A.R.T. began serving the College Station Community in August 2002 and has assisted victims of over 30 house fires to date. The C.A.R.T. was created in response to demands from leadership for improved customer service combined with the desire of Citizen's Fire Academy alumni to help.
