Nominate a Fire Corps Citizen Advocate for the PVSA

Thursday January 22nd, 2009

Fire Corps leaders and their departments are encouraged to nominate an outstanding Fire Corps member for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). This prestigious award honors Americans who inspire others to engage in volunteer service by their demonstrated commitment and example.

The award is an initiative of the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, launched in 2003 by President George W. Bush to recognize volunteers’ contributions. The award is available at three different levels:

  • Bronze for 100 hours of service
  • Silver for 250 hours of service
  • Gold for 500 hours of service

To submit a nomination, fill out and send in the Profile Information Form to the Fire Corps office. Filling out the form also provides a means for Fire Corps to develop a Volunteer Profile for your outstanding Fire Corps member. These profiles are posted on the Volunteer Profiles page of the Fire Corps web site and they provide great publicity not only for the volunteer, but also for your department.

If you have any questions, contact us at info@firecorps.org or 1-888-FC-INFO1 (324-6361).
