Alpharetta Fire and Emergency Services
Located northeast of Atlanta, Georgia, Alpharetta Fire and Emergency Services is a combination department serving a population of 225,000 during peak business hours as well as approximately 38,000 residents during nights and weekends. Recently recognized by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation as recipients of the President's Volunteer Service Award, the Alpharetta Fire Corps Program consists of 100 community members, many of whom also participate in the agency's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program.
The Alpharetta Fire Corps team is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week, ready to provide rehabilitation services (food and drinks) for
the department's first responders during lengthy emergency incidents.
This Fire Corps team utilizes a department-owned vehicle dedicated to
this purpose. Fire Corps members also develop and maintain the
department's website (www.alpharettacitizencorps.org)
and provide non-suppression support to the department by participating
in boot drives, community projects, as well as other department
programs and events.
All members of the Alpharetta Fire Corps team are graduates of
the CERT program and are used to fill in all areas of the department
except for fire suppression. For more information on the Alpharetta
Fire Corps Program, please contact Lieutenant Gary Robinson at grobinson@alpharetta.ga.us or at 678-297-6293.
